Self-contained VSD air conditioners provide the best of the existing technology - a compressor featuring a brushless DC motor and an inverter that constantly controls the speed and cooling power delivered.  

The compressor continuously changes its running speed depending on ambient and set temperature.  The compressor also operates at maximum power to cool rapidly.
